The Heart Behind the Art
I donβt paint mountains to show a mountain, nor streams to show a stream.
My hope is to paint a feeling of connection; that moment when the world grows quiet, when burdens loosen their grip,
when a wandering heart remembers where it belongs.
If you pause before one of my paintings and hear the stream, feel the sun,
the coolness of the shade, or wish to travel a path made only of paint, then something beautiful has happened.
For a brief moment, the canvas has become a doorway.
And if a painting leaves my studio and finds a place in your home, my hope is not that you admire it.
My hope is that it welcomes you.
So when someone says, while viewing my art:
"I want to be right there."
I smile.
Because that was always my intention.
Not to paint a place.
But to create a place someone might want to be.
